Mike Grande

Mike Grande is a professional guitar teacher and recording studio owner in Staten Island, New York.   His melodic, instrumental, guitar-driven tunes demonstrate his fretboard dexterity, proficiency and pyrotechnics in the vein of his influences Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Neil Schon.  

Mike is the owner of the School of Rock Recording Studios, which was first established in late 2002 as The School of Rock Music School, specializing in guitar and bass guitar lessons.   Since the company's inception, what has become one of New York City's most unique recording studios has been featured in MIX Magazine, December 2005, Musical Merchandise Review, January 2006, and countless local newspapers, including the Staten Island Advance, October 2006.

After the first year of business, The School of Rock proudly employed six full and part teachers and boasted over 100 students, several of whom came from as far away as New Jersey.   Business continued to expand via word-of-mouth and guerilla marketing and publicity campaigns with the community newspapers, direct mail and special lessons packages until it came time to expand the business into recording and showcase services in mid-2004, when Mike re-Christened the business The School of Rock Recording Studios.   Seizing upon his already built-in music lesson clientele, Mike subtly introduced his students to the wonderful world of recording in the simplest way possible: by providing them with each hour's music lesson, professionally recorded to CD or downloaded as MP3 files to each student's iPods, immediately after every lesson.

When the School of Rock Recording Studios is not catering to their core clientele - the students - the facility offers top flight recording and showcasing services at all hours with the facility operational up to 18-hours per day, everyday.   Since the School of Rock Recording Studios is staffed by some of Staten Island's best musicians, the business is continually expanding its service offerings.   The business recently began catering to singers, songwriters, composers, and jingle writers by providing backing musicians, drawing from either SOR Recording's own talented staff of seasoned players, some of whom has performed or recorded with Bo Diddly, Johnny Winter, and Cyndi Lauper.

Mike continues to record his all original, instrumental tunes for a wide variety of projects, including regional television commercials, corporate clients, ad agencies, and for his own personal passion.

Mike Grande's samples tracks were recorded with Rob Racalbuto on drums, Adam Reich on bass, Eddie Perelman on keys, and Mike Grande on all guitars.
